Cummins B & C Series head bolts are torqued using a torque plus angle method. This method causes the bolts to stretch when torqued. This gauge helps determine if the bolts have stretched beyond the limit when they could be reused.

- Cut out the outline of this tool before use. Using a thicker paper or backing it with cardboard will help keep it rigid.
- Use the side marked B for B series engines and C for C series engines.
- Place the bolt head against the base of the slot and align the edge with the gauge. If the bolt extends beyond the maximum allowable length, you must replace the bolt.
