This engine kit can be packaged with one of two different type cylinder liners:Standard Liners are identical to the design you would purchase from your local OE part supplier. It will feature one rectangular liner seal and two round o-rings. Crevice Seal Liners (Abbreviated as "C/S") are a superior design, patented by IPD. This liner utilizes a wider wedge-shaped rectangular seal and two o-rings, The wedge-shaped seal has been specifically designed to reduce the amount of cylinder liner movement. This upgrade greatly decreases the chances of liner flange breakage or premature o-ring failure.

The liners and or o-rings you remove are severely deteriorated at the lower bore area. Your lower bore in the block is deteriorated from the liner movement.  The o-rings you remove are hard, square or flattened out to the point they no longer held back the coolant. Supports the flange each time the cylinder fires and the piston tries to drag the liner into the crankcase, especially todays higher horsepower applications. Stops further deterioration of top chamfer of the lower bore of the cylinder block. Keeps the two lower O-rings from becoming square and useless due to excessive vibration resulting in loss of coolant into the oil pan and potentially substantial engine damage.
