Fits Detroit Diesel 12.7L Series 60 Engines Produced after 1998.
Kit contains 2-piece Articulated Steel 15:1 CR Pistons with Heavy Pin" (22mm ID) wrist pins and 3.00mm Top Ring Thickness. This cylinder kit replaces cylinder kit 23532561 which originally had a 2.5mm top ring, instead of the new 3mm.
The Heavy Piston Pin (23525168) is a stronger, updated design when compared to the Light Piston Pin (23521649) that some engines were originally built with at the factory. The outside diameter and length remain the same, but the ID becomes smaller on the heavy pin, as the wall is thicker. It can be used to replace light pins in all applications, as long as all 6 pins are changed out at the same time. DO NOT intermix heavy pins and light pins in the same engine.
This engine uses a late style connecting rod with wrist pin that slides through connecting rod and is held into place by retaining clips.
