Trunk piston, 21:1, N & C injector, 5198899 cylinder kit
This kit is designed for engines with N series injectors. It contains 21:1 CR pistons. You can upgrade your 17:1 compression ratio pistons to use this engine kit, but you will need to update your injectors to N45.

*Detroit Diesel engines can use a variety of alternate front and rear crankshaft seals. These seals can be purchase separately. Please be aware that there can be both left and right hand rotation seals, as well as single and double lip in some cases.
The Detroit Diesel 6V53 engine serial number resembles "06DXXXXXXX" and it can be located stamped into a flat machined surface on the right side of the engine cylinder block. Usually this engine serial is located in the top rear corner. If you have this engine serial number and would like us to run it for you to ensure you are receiving the correct parts, please give us a call.
