Effective January 6, 2006 (beginning with engine serial Nos. 6B0320 for ASET AC engines and 6B0330 for ASET AI and AMI engines), a revised oil pan mounting isolator, Part #41GC227, was implemented into production. This new isolator, which replaces the previously used isolator, Part #41GC212, has a harder elastomer section to improve the clamp-load on the oil pan gasket. Use of this new isolator is recommended for all isolated oil pan applications (which includes E7, E-Tech and ASET engines).
The previously used isolator, Part # 41GC212, can continue to be used for E-Tech EECU mounting and clutch control system applications.
To help identify the revised isolator, there is a distinct visual difference between the new and the previously used isolators. The current Isolator part No. 41GC227 has a black color elastomer, whereas the former 41GC212 isolator is gray. The revised isolator is required for use with 51-quart oil pans, and also recommended for 28-quart and 36-quart oil pans should replacement of the existing isolators be required.
